1st commercial flight of Spicejet lands successfully at Pakyong airport in Sikkim

In Sikkim, the first commercial flight of Spicejet landed successfully at newly constructed Pakyong airport on Saturday. 

The plane's landing is seen as a major boost to the state tourism prospect as it is the first time that a commercial flight has made a successful landing at the Pakyong Airport. 

The 78 seater aircraft which took off from Kolkata was on its first trial landing at Pakyong, about 30 kilometers away from Gangtok.  


Expressing his happiness on the safe landing, Chief Minister Pawan Chamling termed the event as momentous for Sikkim and its people.  

Sikkim Chief Secretary, A.K.Shrivastava said, it will pave the way for further booming of tourism along with all round development in the state.
