Rhino census at Kaziranga national park begins tomorrow

In Assam, the rhino census at the world heritage site Kaziranga national park will begin tomorrow. 

Chief Conservator of Forest NK Vaasu said, all arrangements are being made for the two-day survey.  

He said, result of the survey will be known on 28th of this month.  

AIR correspondent reports,  nearly 350 enumerators will carry out the census in the next two days. 

Forest officials and wildlife experts have been engaged as enumerators. 

The entire park has been divided into 74 compartments. Jeep and elephant safaris will remain closed during the census. 

2401 rhinos were found at the Kaziranga national park as per the last census conducted in 2015.
