Govt electrified more than 16,500 villages during Gram Swaraj Abhiyan between 14th April to 5th May: Amit Shah

BJP president Amit Shah has said that 16, 850 villages were electrified and other facilities were provided by the Government during the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan which lasted from 14th April to 5th of this month.

Speaking to media in New Delhi this evening, Mr Shah said, the programme was an unique experiment.

Mr Shah mentioned that due to assembly election in Karnataka and panchayat election in West Bengal, the campaign did not run there.

On a media query on rising oil prices, Mr Shah said, the government is taking the matter of oil prices seriously.
