UP: Death toll in Friday’s night dust storm, rain and lightning related incidents rises to 18

In Uttar Pradesh death toll in Friday’s night dust storm, rain and lightning related incidents has reached 18. One more casualty is reported from Moradabad district. AIR correspondent reports that Maximum casualties are reported from Moradabad. Financial assistance to next of the kin of each deceased has been distributed by the local authorities. The nine injured are also being given medical and financial assistance. Power supply and communications system are still affected in several districts.


Met department has issued for thunder and dust storm and rain for next 24 hours, in 6 districts and adjoining areas of eastern and western regions of the state. Administration has been asked by the State Government to take preventive measures to save lives and property. People have been advised to stay inside during storm and heavy rain and don’t take shelter under trees or near transformers and electric Polls.
