England to battle it out against Croatia in 2nd semi-final of FIFA World Cup

Youth faces experience when England's young guns and Croatia's old guard face off tonight at the second semi-final of FIFA World Cup. The match will be played at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow at 11.30 p.m. England have not reached the last four for 28 years and have only once before reached the final, when they won the World Cup on home soil in 1966. Croatia have never gone beyond the semis, but after matching the achievements of their much-revered 1998 side, a richly talented generation  landed  the biggest prize in football.  England progressed to the last four of football's flagship tournament for the first time since 1990 with a 2-0 win over Sweden on Saturday , while Croatia advanced by overcoming hosts Russia on penalties.

England have no injury concerns and English football manager, Gareth Southgate is likely to stick with the same team that made it past Sweden in the quarterfinal. But the challenge posed by Croatia is likely to be more demanding, especially as Zlatko Dalic's side features one of the best midfield pairings around, in Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic.

It will be a wait for France till late tonight to know whether they meet Croatia or England in the FIFA World cup final on Sunday. In an absorbing first semi final last night at St Petersburg France defeated Belgium 1-0.
