J&K: Landslide claims 7 lives, injures 26 at tourist spot in Reasi district

In Jammu and Kashmir,seven people were killed and twenty six others injured in a landslide incidentat Siharbawa waterfall in Reasi district on Sunday. 

 

Official sources toldAIR that the landslide occurred in the pool below the waterfall in Talwara areaof the mountainous district on Sunday afternoon when tourists were takingbath. 

 

AIR correspondent reports that four of the victims were killed on the spotwhile three of the injured succumbed to on the way to hospital. 

 

Rescue operation wascarried out by Army and paramilitary forces The bodies were recovered and theinjured were evacuated. The injured have been hospitalized. 

The debris have beenremoved and search operation  was being carried out when last reportscame in.
