Monsoon session of both houses of Bihar legislature begins in Patna

The Monsoon session of both houses of the Bihar legislature began in Patna today. The session will continue till 26 of this month and it will have five seatings.

The house adjourned for the day after paying tributes to those leaders who died during inter session period of the house.Earlier four bills were tabled in the house during this session including amendments to the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016, with a view to prevent its misuse.

The first Supplementary Budget of the current financial year was also tabled in the house.

 
 The session is likely to be stormy as opposition parties have decided to corner the government on various issues including deteriorating law and order. Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Chaudhary has appealed all parties for smooth functioning of the house.
