Trump, Rouhani trade angry threats

US President Donald Trump and his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani have traded hostile warnings, amid rising tensions between the two countries.

Mr Trump said in a tweet that Iran will suffer consequences if it threatened the US. He said, US is no longer a country that will stand for Iran's demented words of violence.
Mr Rouhani on Sunday said, the war with Iran would be the mother of all wars.

The escalation in rhetoric came as the US administration launched an offensive of speeches and online communications meant to pressurise Iran to end its nuclear program and alleged support of militant groups.

In May, US President Donald Trump had pulled Washington out of the 2015 nuclear deal between world powers and Iran, and moved to reinstate economic sanctions against Tehran.
