India's exports are expected to touch 350 billion dollars in the current fiscal: Suresh Prabhu

Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu today said, India's exports are expected to touch 350 billion dollars in the current fiscal. The Minister was speaking at a function organised by industry body ASSOCHAM in New Delhi.

He said, exports continue to register healthy growth rates despite increasing global protectionism. Mr Prabhu said, the services sector is set to become a dominant driver of the Indian economy and will contribute 3 trillion Dollars to 5 trillion Dollars by 2025.

He said, the Commerce Ministry has identified twelve champion services to give a boost to the sector.

The Minister asserted that the Cabinet has approved a dedicated fund of 500 crore rupees to support initiatives in this sector.
