Assault on compound, roadside bomb kill 26 in Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, coordinated assault on a government compound in the eastern city of Jalalabad killed at least 15 people and a roadside bomb in the western province of Farah killed 11 today, Afghan officials said.
Provincial government spokesman Attaullah Khogyani said gunmen stormed a government building after a suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance gate. Afghan security forces had ended the assault and killed two of the gunmen but much of the building was destroyed. 15 also wounded in the attach, he added. No militant group claimed responsibility for the attacks. 
Separately, a roadside bomb hit a Kabul-bound passenger bus in western Afghanistan today, killing at least 11 people and wounding 37 others, including many women and children, officials said. Provincial Government spokesman, Naser Mehri said the explosion happened early morning in Bala Baluk district of Farah Province. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the bom
