Maratha agitators disrupted road traffic in several parts of the state as part of the state-wide bandh called today, demanding reservation for the community in jobs and educational institutes. 

Thane and Navi-Mumbai have been completely excluded from today’s bandh while the agitators are holding Mook Andolan (Silent Protest) at District Collector’s office in Bandra in Mumbai, from 11 am to 2 pm. 

Maharashtra Police has stepped up security so as to maintain law and order. Six companies of Rapid Action Force (RAF), one company each of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) and Home Guard personnel have been deployed at sensitive locations.
