AYUSH Minister Shripad Yesso Naik and Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram were present during the signing ceremony of MoU in New Delhi.

Both the Ministers expressed hope that the MoU will be an important milestone in mainstreaming the tribal community by empowering the tribal gatherers engaged in collection and sale of minor forest produce which is a major source of livelihood of the people in tribal areas.
Under the MoU, National Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Board will identify potential medicinal plant species of the tribal areas. It will also support training and awareness programme on Good and Agricultural Practices and Good Field Collection Practices.
