Vietnam Open Badminton: Ajay Jayaram goes down to Shesar Hiren Rhustavito in finals

AFP
In Badminton, India's Ajay Jayaram today failed to win his first title of the season as he lost the Vietnam Open Men's Singles Final at Ho Chi Minh City.

The 30-year old was beaten by Shesar Hiren Rhustavito of Indonesia, in straight games, 14-21, 10-21. Jayaram was making a comeback after recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered last year.

This was the third time in as many weeks that an Indian was fighting for a title in a Badminton event. Last Sunday, Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu had settled for a silver medal at the World Championships in Nanjing, China. A week before that, Sourabh Verma had won the Russia Open Tour Super 100 tournament.
