India believes in universal tolerance and accepts all religions as true says Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu

@VPsecretariat
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has said that India believes in universal tolerance and accepts all religions as true. He said tolerance, acceptance of plurality, unity in diversity, and ability to adapt and absorb are some of the key aspects of Hinduism. Mr Naidu was addressing the concluding session of the second World Hindu Congress in Chicago last night.

Vice President said Hindu religion teaches how to co-exist harmoniously with nature. He said some people are trying to make the word Hindu untouchable and intolerable. Mr Naidu stressed the need for preserving the true values of Hinduism to alter ill-informed opinions and attitudes.

Outlining the important aspects of Hinduism, Vice President said, share and care is the core of the Hindu philosophy. He called upon the delegates to preserve the true values of Hinduism as shown by sheers like Swami Vivekananda. Mr Naidu said empowerment and respect of women are another key aspects of Hinduism.

More than 2,500 delegates and 250 speakers from over 60 countries participated in the three-day conference coinciding with the 125th anniversary of the historic speech of Swami Vivekananda in Chicago in 1893. The next World Hindu Congress will be held in Bangkok in November 2022.
