India, Uzbekistan ink 17 MoUs in various fields

India and Uzbekistan have signed  17 MoUs in various fields including agriculture, Tourism, combating illicit trafficking, health and medical science and pharmaceuticals. 

The agreements were inked following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in New Delhi.
 
Mr Mirziyoyev will also meet President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu. 

Earlier,  External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj called on Mr Mirziyoyev today. 

Both leaders held constructive discussion on cooperation in trade and investment, development cooperation, education, renewable energy, connectivity and tourism.

The visiting dignitary was accorded a ceremonial reception at the forecourts of Rashtrapati Bhawan Monday morning. 

Uzbek President said India has a special place in the heart of each Uzbek. 

He said at the moment, India is a rapidly developing nation and confidently strengthening its role as a global power. 

He also visited Rajghat and paid tributes to Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
