J&K: Two terrorists killed in an encounter in Kupwara district

In  Jammu & Kashmir, two terrorists were killed in an encounter in Kupwara district.  The operation was launched on tip-off last evening in Shahgund area of Handwara.  After a lull of several hours, the fighting resumed this morning. 


One of the slain terrorists has been identified as M.A Nan Wani,  a research scholar turned Hizbul mujahadin commander. The identity of other terrorist is being ascertained. 
       
Meanwhile, in yet another incidence of ceasefire along the Line of Control, Pakistan forces’ resorted to mortar shelling in Poonch district last night which left an Army jawan injured. 

The troops guarding the borderline retaliated the firing effectively and the intermittent exchange of fire lasted for around two hours. The injured jawan was evacuated and shifted to a military hospital.
