Major Asian stock markets bounce higher today after brutal October

All major Asian stock markets today bounced higher, bringing some relief after a brutal October in which equities have suffered one of their worst drops in a decade and spooked investor confidence.

Japan’s Nikkei gained 2.1 percent, China's Shanghai Composite climbed 1.3 percent and South Korea's KOSPI added 0.7 percent and. Singapore's Straits Times index ended up by 1.7 percent and Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 1.6 percent.

In European markets, major indices were also trading up. London’s FTSE-100 gained 1.4 percent. While France's CAC surged 2.1 percent and Germany's DAX climbed 1.2 percent in intra day trade.
