Mizoram: Electioneering gains momentum, CEO holds meeting with voluntary organizations

In Mizoram, electioneering has gained momentum. All major parties are organising campaign meetings and door-to-door canvassing. 

The new CEO Ashish Kundra after taking charge of office yesterday held a meeting with different voluntary organizations under NGO coordination committee, for conducting free, fair and peaceful election in the state. Also, training to polling officials and staff has begun in all districts.

Training on election expenditure for party candidates is being imparted by the election expenditures monitoring cell in all districts.

The state is going to poll on 28th of this month to elect 40 member state Assembly.

Addressing a campaign meeting in Champhai South yesterday, BJP candidate Ronghaka Colney said they will build a new Mizoram if voted to power. He said the farmers can earn more, as the Modi government at Centre is providing adequate support for agricultural marketing.

On the other, ZPM Party's vice-president Dr. Kenneth Chawngliana in a press meet ruled out the possibility of their candidate's falling prey into horse-trading. He said their candidates contesting as Independents are bound by strict party rules. He claimed that ZPM is contesting the poll to bring in reforms for protection of the state, Mizo community and their religion.
