NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant today said that recycling and reuse of water are crucial for future urban planning and policy. He was addressing a function on Capacity Building Programme for Urban Water Management in New Delhi. Mr Kant said, attaining the high rate of economic growth for India is directly linked to the sustainable use of water.

Speaking on the occasion, Drinking Water and Sanitation Secretary, Parmeshwaran Iyer said, water is a state subject in the country, which makes cooperation and ownership of water management crucial. He said, building infrastructure for storage, transmission and treatment of water is important.
