Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing on Tuesday to discuss the situation arising out of the US decision to pull nearly 7,000 troops from Afghanistan.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson told the reporters that Pakistan and China believe that military means cannot resolve the Afghanistan issue.

US President Donald Trump had last week announced his decision to withdraw around half of the 14,000 US troops stationed in Afghanistan.

Trump's decision has been welcomed by the Taliban.
