Intense Cold wave continues to grip North India as temperatures dropped at several places in the region.

In Delhi, the minimum temperature further dropped to 3.4 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average. 

The Met Department said, it was the coldest December day in the national capital since 2014. 

The maximum temperature was recorded at 21.3 degrees Celsius, a notch above the normal.

The Met office has forecast clear skies along with the possibility of dense fog tomorrow morning and haze and smoke thereafter.

In Punjab and Haryana, capital Chandigarh recorded the season's coldest night so far at 3.4 degrees Celsius, which is two notches below the normal. 

Adampur in Punjab was the coldest place in the two states with a low of 0.4 degrees Celsius. Dense fog affected normal life at many places in the region. 

The weatherman said, cold wave conditions are likely to continue in the two states over the next few days.

In Himachal Pradesh, biting cold is being experienced across the state despite clear and sunny weather during the day. Tourist places like Manali, Rohtang and Kalpa received fresh snowfall. 

In view of the bad weather, Kullu district administration has issued an for tourists and locals not to venture to higher reaches of the district. According to weather department, cold wave is likely to prevail at an isolated place in the state during next 24 hours.

With snowfall at the higher terrain, In Uttar Pradesh, chilly winds continued to sweep the state capital.

The minimum temperatures in Lucknow dropped to as low as 4.4-degree Celsius today. The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded in Muzaffarnagar at 1.0-degree Celsius. 

The MeT office said, shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur at a few places over the state.
