J&K governor compliments Sarpanches, Panches for their participation in Panchayat elections

Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik today said that the Panchayati Raj Institutions can truly represent and fulfill the developmental aspirations of people due to their direct participation in planning and implementing Government welfare schemes.

He was speaking at the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected Sarpanches of Jammu Division in Jammu today.   

Governor complimented Sarpanches and Panches for their whole hearted participation in the Panchayat elections which were held after a gap of 7 years and saw a voter turn out of 74.1 percent.

He lauded people and Government functionaries for conducting incident-free elections even under very trying circumstances.
