Khelo India: Maharashtra all set to register a clean sweep in Kho Kho

In Khelo India Games, Maharashtra is all set to register a clean sweep in Kho Kho. They have won 3 Gold Medals and are expecting one more from today’s last final. But challenge of Maharashtra Girls came to an end in semi-finals of Under 21 Kabaddi. In overall Medals tally, Maharashtra is number one with 67 gold, 51 silver and 62 bronze. Delhi with 47 gold, 31 silver and 43 bronze,  is number 2. Haryana is on number 3 position with 38 gold, 36 silver and 38 bronze. 

AIR correspondent reports, Maharashtra bagged Gold Medals in both the Under 17 Kho Kho finals today. Maharashtra Girls defeated Delhi and Boys defeated Andhra Pradesh. Under 21 Maharashtra Boys have defeated Kerala to clinch today's third Gold. Maharashtra Girls are now fighting with Kerala for fourth Gold in Kho Kho.


In Kabaddi under 21, Girls from Haryana and Himachal Pradesh entered finals today. In semi-finals, Haryana beat host Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh defeated Andhra Pradesh. 

In Tennis, Krish Patel and Zeel Desai of Gujrat,  Suresh Kumar and Abhinav Sanjeev of Tamilnadu and S. Shrimala and S Damera of Telangana won Bronze Medals Today. 

In Hockey, Jharkhand came back from a huge 0-3 deficit to turn the tables on Odisha and emerge 4-3 winners (to)set up a title clash with Haryana in the girls Under-17 category. In contrast, Haryana turned the second semi-final into a one-sided affair, hammering neighbours Punjab 4-0.

In Football semi-final of Under 21 Boys, Tamilnadu beat Maharashtra 3 - 2. In under 17 boys, Punjab defeated Maharashtra 3 - 1, Under 17 Girls of Odisha beat Manipur 2 - 1. Finals will be held tomorrow. Nitin Kelkar For AIR News Pune."
