SPMCIL should have huge outreach programme to sell coins to all African countries: Piyush Goyal

Finance minister Piyush Goyal today said Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL) should have a huge outreach programme to sell coins to all African countries.

Speaking at the 13th Foundation Day of SPMCIL in New Delhi, Mr Goyal said it will be great pride for the country if SPMCIL notes and coins reach all over the world under Make In India initiative. 

Lauding the work of all SPMCIL employees during demonetisation period, the minister, however, said all Mint presses should be modernised with the best and latest technologies.

He urged all employees to utilize their potential to the fullest to take the organisation to greater heights.

Department of Economic Affairs secretary Subhash Chandra Garg expressed happiness that SPMCIL has made a profit of 600 crore rupees last year.
