PM Modi leaves for South Korea

Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarks on a two-day state visit to the Republic of Korea tonight. 

The visit is part of the growing momentum of high-level exchanges between the two countries. Besides summit meeting with President Moon Jae-in, Prime Minister Modi is also having a number of engagements with the Korean leadership, businesses and Indian Community. 

After reaching Seoul early morning on Thursday, Prime Minister's first program will be an address to the India-Korea Business Symposium and launch of India-Korea Startup Hub. He will meet the mayor of Kimhae city - which has been declared as the sister city of Ayodhya. 

As part of the global celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Prime Minister will unveil a bust of Mahatma at the Seoul Campus of Yonsei University. 

In the evening Prime Minister will interact with the Indian community in South Korea. 

On Friday, Prime Minister Modi will have a bilateral meeting with President Moon. Regional and global issues of mutual interest are likely to be on agenda. 

Mr. Modi will also be conferred with the Seoul Peace Prize in recognition of his dedication to international cooperation, global growth and human development.
