In Myanmar, Supreme Court on Tuesday heard appeal of two jailed Reuters journalists. Lawyers for the two journalists sentenced to seven years in prison for their reporting on brutal crackdown on Rohingyas have appealed their conviction to the Court.

Reporters Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo remained in Insein Prison while their lawyers attended the court's first hearing on their final appeal in the capital, Naypyitaw. Outlining their grounds of appeal, the reporters’ lawyer cited lack of proof of crime.

After government law officer responded, Justice Soe Naing adjourned the case without giving a date for a ruling. The prisoner's wives also came to the court hearing, bringing their young children.
