Representational Pic
In Chhattisgarh, elaborate security arrangements are in place to ensure  free, fair and peaceful polling in Maoist affected tribal Bastar constituency, which will go to the polls in first phase of General elections on April 11th.

More than 60 polling parties, escorted by heavy contingent of security forces, have already been sent to polling booths located in sensitive and hypersensitive areas.  The polling parties for  72 polling stations situated in remote Maoist affected regions  have been airlifted by helicopters.

Special DG - Naxal Operations Girdhari Nayak said that a massive security cover has been provided for the smooth conduct of elections. More than 1,800 polling stations have been set up in Bastar constituency. Out of these, 512 are identified as sensitive and 224 are hyper sensitive.
