Campaigning for third phase of LS elections in full swing

Campaigning is in full swing for the Tuesday's third phase of Lok Sabha elections. 116 constituencies, spread over 13 states and 2 Union Territories, will go to polls in this phase.

Voting in will take place for all 26 constituencies in Gujarat, 20 in Kerala, 14 each in Maharashtra and Karnataka, 10 in Uttar Pradesh, 7 in Chhattisgarh, 6 in Odisha, 5 each in Bihar and West Bengal, 4 in Assam, 2 in Goa, 1 each in Jammu and Kashmir, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Tripura.

Leaders from various political parties are holding rallies and roadshows across the country.
Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the NDA government will take strong steps against infiltrators if voted to power again. Mr Modi asserted that the incomplete work of border fencing will be taken up with priority. 

The Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to passing the Citizenship Amendment Act in Parliament if the NDA government comes into power. Mr Modi said that the development model of the country will be security for all and respect for all. He criticised the Trinamool Congress-led government in West Bengal and said that there is no development in the state. He was addressing an election rally at Buniyadpur in South Dinajpur District of West Bengal this morning.
Later addressing a rally in Bihar, JD(U) President and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar addressed election meetings in Supaul and Madhepura and sought votes in favour of party candidates to speed up the development of the country. 

RJD leader Tejaswi Prasad Yadav addressed election meetings in Khagaria and Madhepura. While addressing election meetings in Seemanchal areas of the state  Hindustani Awam Morcha Chief Jitan Ram Manjhi and RLSP Chief Upendra Kuswaha exhorted people to vote in favour of the grand alliance. LJP President Ram Vilas Pawan also addressed election meetings in Khagaria and Madhepura in support of NDA candidates.

In the third Phase, the polling will be held in five constituencies namely Araria, Supaul, Madhepura, Khagaria and Jhanjharpur.  Later in the day, Prime Minister will address the rallies in  Etah and Bareilly districts of Uttar Pradesh. Leaders of various political parties are holding rallies to woo the voters across the state. 

In Kerala, all 20 constituencies will go to the polls. There are 227 candidates in the fray.  National leaders of the three major fronts - LDF, UDF and the NDA -are campaigning in the state for their party candidates. BJP President Amit Shah will hold rallies in the state.

BJP President Amit Shah will also campaign for the party at Shimoga in Karnataka. Congress President Rahul Gandhi will address rallies in Bihar and Chhattisgarh today.
