US Prez Donald Trump to hold talks with British PM Theresa May amid protests

IANS
US President Donald Trump will meet British Prime Minister Theresa May in London today for what he termed substantial talks, on the second day of the his three-day state visit to the UK.

Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt will be among the senior ministers present at the talks, where issues such as climate change will be discussed.

According to BBC, the meeting comes as large-scale protests are planned in several UK cities, including a demonstration in Trafalgar Square. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is due to address protesters at the London rally.

Ms May is due to step down as leader of the governing Conservative Party on Friday, her Brexit strategy having imploded after nearly three years in the job. Some 13 candidates so far are in the fray to replace her as Prime Minister by late July.
