Chinese President  Xi Jinping will visit North Korea from June 20 to 21 at the invitation of Kim Jong-Un. The spokesperson for the International Department of the ruling Communist Party of China, Hu Zhaoming, disclosed this in Beijing today.

His visit coincides with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. Xi's visit, the first by a Chinese leader in 14 years to the internationally isolated country reeling under UN sanctions for pursueing nuclear weapons programme, comes ahead of his proposed meeting with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of G-20 summit scheduled to be held on June 28-29 in Tokyo.
