Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed agreement with Bangladesh that Rohingya crisis should be resolved quickly so that the displaced persons can go back to Myanmar.

Briefing media after the bilateral meeting between Sheikh Hasina and the Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing yesterday, Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh Md Shahidul Haque said that the two countries agreed that the Rohingya issue can't be left unresolved any more.

Bangladesh and China agreed that representatives of the two countries will work together and use their goodwill on Myanmar for the speedy resolution of the issue.

Earlier the Communist Party of China (CPC) Minister for International Affairs Song Tao had told Ms. Hasina that it will contact the top leaders of Myanmar to amicably solve the Rohingya crisis and start the repatriation process as soon as possible.

During the meeting, Dhaka and Beijing also agreed on the importance of  Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar (BCIM)  corridor for the economic growth of the region and the need to work actively on it together with India.

Prime Minister Hasina is returning back to  Dhaka today after completing her 5-day long visit to China.
