10th Jagran Film festival inaugurated in New Delhi

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar today inaugurated the 10th Jagran Film festival at Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Javadekar said that cinema has become a vital part of people's lives. He said, it is a democratic medium which can express different emotions and join people together. Cinema has become a great tool for soft power.

Mr Javadekar said, Indian films are loved and accepted globally. He highlighted the recent steps taken by the Ministry to promote India as a filming destination through single window clearance mechanism created through film facilitation office.

The Minister recalled historical development of cinema  in India. He said that the Ministry is planning to bring further additions to the National museum of Indian cinema, Mumbai.

Highlighting that cinema is people's medium, Mr Javadekar said, the Ministry is committed to taking steps to create a conducive environment for the growth of cinema. 

Jagran Film Festival, JFF is an initiative by the Jagran Prakashan Group towards creating a culture of cinema appreciation and an honest and sincere attempt create a platform that connects great content with audiences across the country. 



Last year, with over 18 towns, 400 screenings, 18 cinema appreciation workshops, the festival directly touched over an audience of over 55 thousand people and the media coverage of Jagran puts the reach of JFF well beyond 50 million people across India.
