Pakistan violates ceasefire along LoC

File Pic:PTI
In a fresh ceasefire violation in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan troops resorted to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing targeting Indian forward posts and villages along the Line of Control in Rajouri district today.

Defence Spokespersons told AIR Jammu that they started mortar shelling and small arms firing prompting retaliation by the Indian Army.

The exchange of fire between the two sides continued for about two hours. However, there was no immediate report of any casualty in the Pakistani firing.

This was the second ceasefire violation along the LoC in the past four days. On the 3rd of this month, Pakistan targeted the Mendhar sector of Poonch.

Last month, two Army personnel and a 10-day-old baby were killed and several civilians injured in heavy Pakistani shelling and firing in the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri in Jammu region.
