5th UIDAI Aadhaar Seva Kendra becomes operational in Hisar

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) fifth stand-alone Aadhaar Seva Kendra has become operational on dry run basis at Hisar in Haryana. Till now, four Aadhaar Seva Kendras are operational and three more will become operational  by next week.

Out of these four Kendras, one is operational at Akshardham Metro Station and another one will become operational at Inderlok Metro Station in Delhi, while one is at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh and other  one at Agra in Uttar Pradesh. In a statement, UIDAI said, two more such Kendras are being made operational by next week in Bhopal and Chennai.

Chief Executive Officer of UIDAI Dr. Ajay Bhushan Pandey said, this is part of the UIDAI’s plan to open 114 such centres in 53 cities across the country for providing hassle-free Aadhaar enrollment and services to the people with prior appointment.


He said, the authority intends to complete setting up of all the 114 Aadhaar Seva Kendras by the end of this year. Dr. Pandey said, these Kendras will function along with other 35 thousand Aadhaar Kendras currently being run in banks, post offices and other designated State Government offices.

These Aadhaar Seva Kendras have a capacity to handle up to one thousand enrollments and requests per day and will be open for six days a week from 9:30 A.M. to 6 P.M. It will be closed only on Tuesdays and public holidays.
