Corona virus: UP govt decides to set up isolation wards in district hospitals

Uttar Pradesh government has decided to setup isolation wards of 10 beds in each and every district hospital and medical college of the state in view of the possible threat of Corona virus.

AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath yesterday held a meeting of health department officials and reviewed the measures to deal with the situation.

Chief Minister asked officials to keep extra vigil on the airports of state where foreigners are coming. He insisted to keep special monitoring on Indo Nepal border. Suspected case of the deadly corona virus has been reported from Nepal. State share a long porous border with the neighbouring country and there is heavy traffic flow between two nations. Chief minister directed officials to make everyone aware of the corona virus and remain vigilant. He also asked them to coordinate with Union health ministry in this regard and take the necessary steps.Passengers with Corona virus symptoms have been advised to restrict their movement and contact 24 hour helpline number 011- 23978046.
