Prez, V Prez, PM greet people on new year Vikram Samvat 2077

President, Vice President, Prime Minister have greeted people on new year Vikram Samvat 2077, Chaitra Sukladi, Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Cheti Chand, Navreh and Sajibu Cheiraoba. 

President Ram Nath Kovind hoped that the auspicious occasions will bring good health, happiness and prosperity to everyone’s life. He urged everyone to follow guidelines to fight COVID19 with full determination.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said, as we rejoice and hope that these festivals bring better health and greater happiness in our lives, we should recognize that we are currently battling an unprecedented global health challenge and we have to take adequate precautions to stay safe. He appealed people to celebrate these festivals within their homes and avoid large gatherings. The Vice President called upon people to give the complete and unconditional support to Government and healthcare professionals in the war against COVID19. 

He said, as this is a time for new beginnings and new hope, let us be positive and constructive and strive collectively to secure a bright future for this nation and the world. Mr Naidu hoped that the festivals will bring health, peace, harmony, prosperity and happiness in the lives of people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoped that the new year will bring prosperity and good health to all. In a series of tweets, Mr Modi hoped that these auspicious occasions bring good health, happiness and prosperity in people's lives. He said people are marking these festivals at a time when nation is battling the COVID-19 menace. He said these celebrations will not be like they are usually but will strengthen resolve to overcome these circumstances. He hoped that people will keep working to fight COVID-19 together.  

Wishing people on nine-day long festival Navratri, Mr Modi said  over the years, he has been worshipping the Mother Goddess and this time he prays for the health, safety and success of all the nurses, doctors, medical staff, policemen and media personnel who are engaged in the fight against coronavirus.
