All Indians evacuated from Wuhan tested negative for coronavirus: Health Minister

Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has said that all 645 Indians evacuated from New Corona Virus hit Wuhan city of China have tested negative for the Covid-2019. Briefing reporters, Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said one of the three medical students, who had tested positive for novel coronavirus infection and were treated at a hospital in Kerala, has been discharged after recovery. He said other two are stable and recovering and will be discharged soon.

Dr Harsh Vardhan said, agencies are monitoring the cases very minutely and have traced their contact history. He said PMO and other concerned ministries are closely monitoring the situation and added that all states have been informed regarding guidelines. Dr Harsh Vardhan said, the government has stocked up on medical supplies in case of any untoward events. 

The health minister also informed that India is sending essential items like medical equipments to China as a goodwill gesture to tackle Covid-2019. He said India has also extended support to Maldives in testing samples and Bhutan in managing Covid-2019. Dr Harsh Vardhan said government has also agreed to support Afghanistan in testing samples. The Minister said that border areas are constantly being monitored and screening facilities at airports are working to deal with the situation. He said flights arriving from countries like Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong are being screened. He said people at 21 airports are being screened for Covid-2019.
