All six accused in Pehlu Khan lynching case acquitted by Rajasthan court

AIR PIC
The additional district and session court of Alwar today acquitted all six accused in the Pahlu Khan murder case.

Additional Public Prosecutor Yogendra Khatana told reporters that the court gave benefit of the doubt to all six accused and acquitted them of lynching charges.

He said that they are waiting for the court order and appeal will be filed in a higher court.  Pehlu Khan was allegedly killed near behror in Alwar district by a mob that set upon him while he was transporting cows two years ago.

The incident took place on April 1, 2017, and Khan died in hospital on April 3, 2017. Police had also named three minors in the case and they are facing trial in a Juvenile Justice Court. Recently, the Rajasthan Assembly passed a bill to tackle cases related to mob lynching.
