India is always in favour of peace & desires peace but not afraid of giving a befitting reply: Javadekar

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has said that India is always in favour of peace and desires peace but at the same time the country is not afraid of giving a befitting reply.

Talking to AIR News in Bhopal today, the Minister said that the country is united and stands with its soldiers. He paid tributes to the martyred Army personnel. The Minister said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made India's views clear on situation with China. Saying that India has taken the incident very seriously, he said, there is a need to rise above the occasion and avoid political comments in this difficult hour. Mr Javadekar is on a two-day visit to Bhopal.

On the COVID-19 crisis, the Minister said, the Central Government is keeping a close vigil on the situation. He highlighted that the number of patients recovering from the disease is much more than the number of active cases in the country.

Applauding the efforts of Madhya Pradesh Government in dealing with coronavirus, Mr Javadekar said the situation in Indore and rural areas has been controlled effectively under the leadership of the Chief Minister. He said, the state government has done an appreciable job in facilitating 7.5 lakh migrant labourers  returning from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Telangana. He also appreciated the state government's efforts of sending migrants from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to their home states by buses.

On the trend of fake news in the media, the Information and Broadcasting Minister said that this will not be tolerated. He said, it is people’s right to get the correct information. He said, the Information and Broadcasting ministry has also formed a PIB fact check unit to expose fake news. Such fact check units are also being formed in states so that people will have the access to the right information.
