Ministry of Tourism organized its 25th webinar titled ‘Northeast India for the immersive traveller’ under Dekho Apna Desh Series, on Thursday.

Dekho Apna Desh webinar series is promoting spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ through virtual tours of different parts of the country.

This webinar offered an attractive virtual tour of four north-eastern states-Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Sikkim.

The presenters spoke about the unexplored destinations, tribes, festivals, crafts, culture of the local people during the webinar.

Dzukou valley situated between Manipur and Nagaland were showcased, which is the crater base of an extinct volcano.

The Hornbill festival celebrated every year from 1st to 10th of December in Kohima has become a big attraction for both domestic and foreign tourists leading to the development of tourist amenities in Nagaland.

Arunachal Pradesh, with its 70 per cent forest cover and home to 26 major tribes, gives an opportunity to the traveller to experience new culture, tradition and dialects after every few kilometres.

In the webinar, beauty of Tawang, Sangti valley and Losar festival which is celebrated in February were highlighted. The webinar also showcased Assam’s women centric textile sector.

Sikkim’s success in the field of sustainable tourism practices and environmental ecology were also highlighted.

The next Dekho Apna Desh Webinar will be held on tomorrow from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon on ‘The tenacity of survival-Inspirational story of Kutch’.
