Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said BJP is the only political party which can take the nation to great heights. Addressing the concluding session of the BJP National convention in New Delhi,  Mr Modi said people have firm belief in the party after seeing the NDA governments way of functioning in the past four and a half  years. He said it is a matter of great wonder and pride that BJP, which once had only two MPs, can now organise a national convention of this level and scale. Mr Modi said this is the first National Convention which is being held in the absence of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He asked all BJP party workers to follow the path shown by Vajpayee. Quoting Swami Vivekanand, Mr. Modi said:-

Party President  Amit Shah said, 2019 elections are very important for BJP to achieve the targets. He said though the results in elections to the three states were not good, the party has not been defeated in these states. Mr. Shah said:-

BJP said the next Lok Sabha elections would be a fight between stability and instability. In a political resolution passed in the National Council meeting in New Delhi, the party said the 2019 General elections will be a fight between honesty and dishonesty and the time has come for the country to decide whether it wants a strong or a weak government. Earlier, briefing about the resolution, senior party leader and Union Minister Ravishankar Prasad said the India of 2019 is vastly different from the India of the 1990s where a Prime Minister did not last for more than a year. He also said the resolution also talks about inclusive growth in every sector under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr. Prasad said:-
Reacting to SP-BSP alliance, Mr. Prasad  said the two parties have come together because they are afraid of Mr Modi and want to oppose him. He said the alliance is not in the interest of the nation and Uttar Pradesh but is a move for political survival.
Earlier, speaking on the resolution, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, security of the country is the top priority of the government. He said non performance and corruption were the features of the UPA government but after NDA came to power, good governance, ease of doing business and development has been delivered. He said the reforms undertaken by the government during the last four and a half years have yielded good results. He said 20 crore people have been benefited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's different schemes and optical fiber network has been laid in the country in over 3 lakh Kilometers. Mr. Gadkari said
Mr. Gadkari said, Congress cannot digest this pace of development and is trying to malign the government by bringing forward false allegations of corruption. He said the Supreme Court has already clarified that there is no corruption in the Rafale deal. Mr. Gadkari said demonetization has put curbs on terrorism and Naxalism. He added that GDP growth has increased and so has the number of tax payers.
Addressing the convention, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, there has been no major terrorist attack in the last five years. She said the country needs to go ahead with reforms which is possible under the leadership of Mr. Modi. She said some Congress leaders are playing dirty politics by seeking help from Pakistan to remove Prime Minister Modi's government. She said BJP is against this type of dirty politics.
In his speech, Senior party leader and Union Minister ArunJaitley asked the party workers to go to the polls on the basis of a strong and decisive leadership of Narendra Modi and good performance of the NDA government. He said when it comes to the issue of leadership, the opposition feels uncomfortable as it does not have a strong, hardworking and performing leader like Narendra Modi who has proved his mettle. Mr. Jailtey said:-
Speaking on the occasion, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said there are alliances being formed to overthrow Prime Minister Narendra Modi because he is running a stable and corruption free government. He added that within one and half years, Uttar Pradesh government has given houses to 18 lakh poor people under Pradhan MantriAwasYojana, irrespective of their caste or religion. The Chief Minister said:-
