Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that  time has come for Global community to move beyond words and act unitedly against menace of terrorism. Addressing the joint press conference after delegation level talks with South Korean President Moon Jae In in Seoul, Mr. Modi said that India and Korea are committed to further strengthen bilateral and international coordination against terrorism.


"आज भारत के गृहमंत्रालय और कोरिया के राष्ट्रीय पुलिस एजेंसी के बीच संपन् हुआ एमओयू हमारे काउंटर टेरिरिज् सहयोग को और आगे बढ़ायेगा, और अब समय गया है कि वैश्विक समुदाय भी बातों से आगे बढ़कर इस समस्या के विरोध में एकजुट होकर कार्रवाई करे।"


Prime Minister thanked President Moon for his support to India after Pulwama terror attack. He said that both the countries have also agreed for a road map in defence technology and co-production. Prime Minister invited Korean companies to invest in defense industrial corridors in India. Mr. Modi said that India and Korea are committed to take the bilateral trade to 50 billion dollars by 2030.


"आज राष्ट्रपति मून और मैंने 2030 तक हमारे द्विपक्षीय व्यापार को बढ़ाकर 50 बिलियन डॉलर्स तक ले जाने के लक्ष् के प्रति अपना कमिटमेंट दोहराया है। इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर, पोर्ट लेड डेवलेपमेंट, मरीन और फूड प्रोसेसिंग, स्टार्टअप् और स्मॉल और मीडियम एन्टरप्राइजिस जैसे सेक्टर्स में हम अपना सहयोग बढ़ाने पर सहमत हैं।"


Seven agreements were signed between the two countries  including collaboration in startups, international crimes.


Prime Minister also received the prestigious Seoul Peace Prize - 2018 in recognition for his contribution to the growth of Indian and global economies.


Mr Modi contributed the award money of one crore thirty lakh rupees to the Namami Gange Fund. 

 

Our correspondent covering the Prime Minister's visit reports that he held fruitful talks with his counterpart and various other stake holders, which made the visit truly special for the two strategic partners. 


"As the harsh winters started waning in South Korea now, new warmth in the relations of India and Korea and personal touch between both their leaders were clearly visible. The visit not only saw another recognition of Indian Prime Minister as a global leader as he received Seoul Peace Prize, it also found South Korea a truly natural partner of India. On one hand, cultural relations and people to people contacts between both the countries have become multidimensional and reinvigorated, on the other hand, economic and strategic partnership have also been reinforced. India has urged the international community  to support its fight against terrorism and terrorist organizations. Home Minister Rajnath Singh condemned the recent Pulwama terror attack and said he stands in solidarity with the family members of the martyrs. He was delivering the  valedictory address at the 4th India-ASEAN Expo and Summit  in New Delhi today. He said the government is  committed to take all necessary measures to safeguard national security.  Mr. Singh said an environment of peace and security is essential for trade and commerce to flourish.

International terror financing watchdog, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has condemned the violent terrorist attack  in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir last week that killed 40 security forces .


The watchdog has decided to keep Pakistan on its grey list at the end of its week-long plenary meeting in Paris. India had made a strong push to ensure that Islamabad is not taken off the list. In a statement, Paris-based FATF said, Pakistan has  not shown a proper understanding of the risks posed by terror outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, Jamat-ud-Dawa and others. It said, Pakistan has until October this year to either comply with the demands made by FATF members or it could be blacklisted.

BJP has termed Congress President Rahul Gandhi's claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a photo-shoot allegedly hours after the Pulwama terror attack as a lie.  Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, party Spokesperson Sambit Patra said the country does not have time to talk about such dramatic allegations. Earlier in a tweet,  the  BJP dismissed  Mr. Gandhi's claim as fake news. The party asserted that the photographs were taken in the morning and accused the Congress President of misleading  the nation. Mr Patra also accused the Congress of playing politics over the incident at a time when the entire nation is speaking in one voice.

Finance Minister  Arun Jaitley criticized the Congress following its decision to appoint  Lt Gen D S Hooda as the head of  party's  national security task force.  In a Facebook post today,  Mr. Jaitley said,  it is intriguing that the party which ruled India for over half a  century needs to be educated on national security issues.  He said the appointment of the retired General is significant as it is a belated and grudging recognition and acceptance of the 2016 surgical strike with which Hooda was intrinsically associated.

In Jammu & Kashmir, the 24 hour long counter terrorist operation launched in Warpora Sopore area has concluded this evening with the killing of two unidentified terrorists. Security sources said the gunfight broke out after joint team of security forces launched cordon and search operation late last evening following  input about the presence of terrorists in the Warpora area of Sopore township in Baramulla district. Senior security sources said the killed terrorists belong to  Jaish e Muhammad.


Talking to AIR, IGP Srinagar, S.P. Pani said incriminating material has been recovered from the encounter site and police has started the investigation.


"दो संदिग् आतंकवादी को पकड़ा है, जिनका कनेक्शन जैश--मोहम्मद से है। ये दोनों कश्मीरी हैं और उनके नाम हैं शहनवाज वो जिला कुलग्राम का रहने वाला है और एक दूसरा साथी है आकिब अहमद मलिक वो कुलवामा का रहने वाला है।"

Election Commission has filed a complaint with the Delhi Police today asking it to investigate fake news about online voting rights to NRIs in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.  In its complaint, the Commission said, its logo was used on social media to mislead the people. The poll body added that such fake news is violative of the Indian Penal Code and causing  confusion among the public.  The ECI has already clarified that  no such facility has been extended to NRIs.

The CEO of Ayushman Bharat Dr Indu Bhushan has announced that over 12 lakh people have been treated  free of cost  under the scheme  till now. Over ten thousand Health and Wellness Centres have become operational in the country under Ayushman Bharat scheme. 


"Around two crore beneficiaries have been issued e-cards to avail the benefits under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. 15 thousand hospitals have been empaneled  under it out of which fifteen per cent are private hospitals.  The scheme provides a health cover of five lakh rupees  annually to vulnerable  families.  It aims at benefiting more than ten crore poor families all over the country. In Assam, the death toll in the spurious liquor tragedy in  Golaghat and Jorhat districts  has gone up to 32. 25 persons died in Golaghat and 7 in Jorhat .  Golaghat Superintendent of Police  Pushpraj Singh said that the incident occurred last evening at Halimara area. Police and Excise department are investigating the matter. Two persons have been arrested  for allegedly selling spurious liquor.

A Delhi court today framed charges of criminal misconduct and amassing disproportionate assets of over 10 crore rupees against former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, his wife Pratibha and others. Special CBI judge Arun Bhardwaj read out the charges before the Congress leader who was present in the court.


The court fixed April 3rd to 5th for the CBI to start recording statements of the witnesses in the case. In a separate case filed by the Enforcement Directorate, the agency filed third supplementary charge sheet against Virbhadra in a money laundering case.

Businessman Robert Vadra appeared before the Enforcement Directorate for the fifth time in a money laundering case today. An official said the agency confronted him with documents and statements of other accused in the case and his statement was recorded. The case against Mr. Vadra relates to allegations of money laundering in the purchase of a London-based property worth 1.9 million pounds.

In Women's Cricket, India defeated England by 66 runs in the opening game of the three match ODI series at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai today. Chasing a target of 203 runs, England were all out for 136 in 41 overs. Earlier, batting first India scored 202 runs in 49.4 overs.
