केन्द्रीय मंत्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी ने आज कहा कि लद्दाख स्वायत्त पर्वतीय विकास परिषद- एल ए एच डी सी के बजट में चार गुणा वृद्धि की गई है। उन्होंने कहा कि लद्दाख में भाषा और संस्कृति के संरक्षण को प्राथमिकता देने के लिए लद्दाख स्वायत्त पर्वतीय विकास परिषद अधिनियम में संशोधन किया गया है। श्री पुरी ने  लद्दाख के लोगों के साथ वर्चुअल जनसंवाद रैली में यह बात कही।

श्री पुरी ने आशा व्‍यक्‍त की कि लद्दाख तेजी से आर्थिक विकास के लक्ष्य हासिल करेगा और कोविड-19 सहित सभी चुनौतियों से बाहर निकलेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि लेह और लद्दाख को बहुत जल्द स्मार्ट क्षेत्रों में बदला जायेगा। क्षेत्र में दूरसंचार सम्पर्क के लिए 54 टावर लगाने की मंजूरी दी गई है। श्री पुरी ने कहा कि क्षेत्र में चलाये जा रहे सभी कार्यों का जायजा लेने के लिए वे जल्द ही लद्दाख का दौरा करेंगे।


Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal today launched Pradhan Mantri Scheme for Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises as a part of Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.The Minister said, this centrally sponsored scheme will generate an investment of 35 thousand crore rupees and will provide employment to nine lakh skilled and semi-skilled workers.

Addressing another meeting through video conferencing, she said, the nationwide lockdown was successful due to the Government’s effort to make essentials especially food available in every corner of the country since the beginning. The Minister has invited all states and investors to convert challenges into opportunities for the food processing sector in India. Ms Badal requested all participants to follow the clarion call of Hon’ble Prime Minister to become ‘Atma  Nirbhar and ‘be vocal for local. The Minister advised all investors to look at the low hanging Ready to Eat segment as a potential opportunity. She mentioned that the Superfoods of India need to be highlighted to the western world. She advised states to share the most popular and nutritious local food which could be branded and marketed through big retailers in foreign countries to target the Indian diaspora.

She highlighted that 74 per cent  of the total employment in food processing was in the unorganized segment. She said 60 per cent  of the 25 lakh units were in rural areas and 80 per cent of these were family owned. Ms Badal said this segment alone could be the future of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and could make the initiative successful. Minister of State Rameswar Teli was also present.


देश में 3 लाख 21 हजार 7 सौ 23 कोविड रोगी उपचार के बाद स्‍वस्‍थ हो गए हैं। पिछले 24 घंटे में 12 हजार 10 रोगी ठीक हुए हैं और अब स्‍वस्‍थ होने की दर 58 दशमलव पांच छह -सात प्रतिशत हो गई है।

स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य और परिवार कल्‍याण मंत्रालय के अधिकारी ने बताया कि पिछले 24 घंटे में 19 हजार चार सौ 59 लोगों में कोविड की पुष्टि हुई है। अब देश में कोविड मरीजों की कुल संख्‍या 5 लाख 48 हजार 3 सौ 18 हो गई है। एक दिन में तीन सौ अस्‍सी लोगों की मृत्‍यु के साथ मृतकों की कुल संख्‍या 16 हजार चार सौ 75 हो गई है। इस समय देश में दो लाख दस हजार एक सौ बीस मरीजों का इलाज चल रहा है।

इस बीच, भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान अनुसंधान परिषद-आईसीएमआर के अधिकारी ने बताया कि पिछले 24 घंटे में देश की विभिन्‍न प्रयोगशालाओं में एक लाख 70 हजार पांच सौ 60 नमूनों की जांच की गई। अब तक कुल 83 लाख 98 हजार तीन सौ 62 नमूनों की जांच की गई है।


Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today announced the setting up of a 'plasma bank' to save lives of serious COVID-19 patients in the national capital. Addressing a virtual  media briefing, the Chief Minister said the bank will start working in the next two days. He added that the AAP government will encourage those who have recovered from COVID-19 to donate their plasma. The Chief Minister said that a helpline will be set up by the government for queries related to donation of plasma.

Mr Kejriwal said that his government has so far conducted clinical trial of plasma therapy on 29 COVID-19 patients and the result was encouraging. The Chief Minister also announced that a sum of one crore rupees will be given to the family of LNJP, Dr Aseem Gupta, who died due to COVID-19. The doctor had served at the front line against the pandemic at the government facility, and died due to COVID-19 in a private hospital yesterday.


Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal today said the export of Personal Protection Equipment medical coveralls for COVID-19 have been allowed with a monthly export quota of 50 lakh. In a tweet he said, this will boost Make in India export.


Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan today informed that scientists at CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune have designed a portable oxygen unit which can be used in homes, hospitals and remote rural areas. In a series of tweets today, he said, one of the strengths of this unit is that it does not require an oxygen cylinder and the use of this unit can help in reducing the demand for ventilators and oxygen cylinders. The Minister said, if the corona patients  get oxygen initially,they do not need ventilators later. He said this can prove to be very important in the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic situation.


भारतीय रेल लॉकडाउन के दौरान आवश्यक वस्तुओं की आपूर्ति के लिए जीवन रेखा साबित हुई है। रेलगाड़ियां, विमानों के बाद राज्यों के बीच सामान परिवहन का सबसे तेज माध्यम बनी हुई हैं। रेल मंत्रालय के कार्यकारी निदेशक आर. डी. बाजपेयी ने आकाशवाणी से बातचीत में बताया कि रेलवे ने अपने हजारों डिब्बे कोविड मरीजों के लिए आइसोलेशन वार्ड में बदल दिए हैं।


Petrol price increased by 5 paise per litre and diesel by 13 paise per litre today. The price of one litre of Petrol is now  80 rupees 43 paise while Diesel is priced at 80 rupees 53 paise per litre in the National Capital. Rates of petrol and diesel differ from state to state depending on the rate of VAT. The Oil marketing companies have said the increase in auto-fuel rates since the 7th of this month is in line with the costs incurred. They added that the rates of petrol and diesel were not revised for 82 days prior to the 7th of this month due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) has issued a statement regarding a letter written by Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Kashmir to Nodal Coordinator for Oil companies in J&K. It said that the letter was written purely in connection with ensuring adequate stock of LPG in the Kashmir Valley. The Department in a statement yesterday said that the letter was issued to prevent any shortfall of essential commodities particularly LPG during the ensuing monsoon season in the event of closure of National Highway-44 during the rainy season.The statement further said that currently, the department maintains stock for nearly a month in Kashmir.  It requested the LPG companies to explore the feasibility of maintaining the stock for nearly two months to prevent any panic situations that may arise in the event of  closure of the highway  for a longer duration.


केन्द्रीय माध्यमिक शिक्षा बोर्ड सीबीएसई आकलन योजना के आधार पर दसवीं और 12वीं कक्षा के विद्यार्थियों के प्रदर्शन का मूल्यांकन कर रहा है। सीबीएसई ने बताया कि परीक्षाओं का परिणाम 15 जुलाई को घोषित किया जाएगा।

सीबीएसई के परीक्षा नियंत्रक डॉ0 संयम भारद्वाज ने आकाशवाणी विशेष बातचीत में कहा कि विद्यार्थियों के प्रदर्शन का मूल्यांकन करते समय प्रत्येक विद्यार्थी पर ध्यान दिया जा रहा है।

Talking to AIR News, Dr. Ambuj Roy of Cardiology Department of AIIMS advised the elderly people and those suffering from other diseases like hypertension and cancer to take extra precautions to avoid the infection.

Dr Naresh Gupta of LNJP Hospital, Delhi suggested to the people to maintain hygiene and social distancing.

In Bangladesh, at least 28 people are reported dead as a passenger vessel sank in the Buriganga river near the Shyambazar area of Dhaka this morning. The official news agency BSS reported that the search and rescue operations are continuing even as 28 bodies have been recovered so far from the river. According to the Fire Service official involved in the rescue work, the Dhaka bound launch from Munshiganj sank after hitting another river vehicle around 9.30 am today.  The passenger launch was carrying more than 50 people. Rescue operation is being conducted by  the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), fire service, river police, coast guard and Bangladesh Navy’s diving team.


Government of Bangladesh has decided to shut down all the state run jute mills in the country due to recurring losses and low productivity. Announcing this the Textile and Jute Minister of Bangladesh Golam Dastagir Gazi said yesterday that the state owned Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) will be provided 5000 crore Taka by the government to clear the arrears of workers. The Minister said that the mills will resume work later under the PPP or joint venture model. Golam Dastagir said that the just mills will be modernized in line with domestic and global demand. He said that the machinery of these mills is 60-70 years old and their production capacity has come down to zero. The government has announced that 25 thousand jute workers affected by the shut down of factories will be given the benefits of a voluntary retirement scheme. The Jute industry in Bangladesh is critically dependent upon exports which contributes close to 80 percent of its income. However, in recent times the international market has shrunk due to falling demand in India and Turkey which were its two major markets. Bangladesh is a major global supplier of Jute products. In volume terms it contributed close to 80 percent of global demand in 2018. On an average, the country produces 1.5 million tonnes of Jute per year with a combined share of above 90 percent of global production.


The Concession Agreement for the 600 Mega Watt Kholongchhu (Joint Venture) Hydroelectric Project between Bhutan government and Kholongchhu Hydro Energy Limited was signed today in Thimphu, in virtual presence of External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar and his Bhutanese counterpart Dr. Tandi Dorji. The 600 MW run-of-the-river project is located on the lower course of the Kholongchhu River in Trashiyangtse District in Eastern Bhutan.

The Project envisages an underground powerhouse of four 150 MW turbines with water impounded by a concrete gravity dam of 95 meters height. It will be implemented by Kholongchhu Hydro Energy Limited, a Joint Venture company formed between Druk Green Power Corporation of Bhutan and Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited of India. The signing of the Concession Agreement will lead to commencement of construction and other works of this first Joint Venture Hydroelectric Project between India and Bhutan. The project is expected to be completed in the second half of 2025.


US National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien has compared Chinese President Xi Jinping to Russian dictator Joseph Stalin. O'Brien said, Chinese Communist Party is Marxist-Leninist and Xi sees himself as Stalin’s successor. O’Brien further warned that the Chinese Communist Party is seeking leverage over Americans through disseminating propaganda and collecting their valuable data via big Chinese companies by making huge investments. Lashing out at the Republicans and the Democrats for underestimating the threat emanating from China, O’Brien said that Beijing is planning to “remake the world” in its image. Lashing out at the American policymakers, he said they were wrong to assume that China would democratize and will adopt the path of liberalization after its economic development.


Global Corona virus cases has surpassed one-crore mark, with over five lakh fatalities. According to Johns Hopkins University in the US, more than 500,000 people worldwide have lost their lives as a result of the pandemic. Since the virus emerged in China late last year, there have been more than one crore cases.  Half the world's cases have been in the United States and Europe, but Covid-19 is now rapidly growing in the Americas. The virus is also affecting South Asia and Africa, where it is not expected to peak until the end of July. Outbreaks are still spreading in many parts of the world, with one million new cases recorded in the last six days.

सतना जिले में क्वारंटीन किए गए मजदूरों ने स्कूल की सूरत ही बदल दी, पुताई के बाद परिसर वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेस की तरह दिखाई देने लगा है। 

सतना जिले के उचेहरा जनपद पंचायत के पुताई श्रमिक रोजी-रोटी की तलाश में दूसरे राज्य गए थे, हालांकि कोविड-19 के दौरान वापस लौटना पड़ा। संक्रमण के खतरे को देखते हुए इन्हें जिगनाहट के शासकीय विद्यालय में क्वारेंटीन किया गया। इस दौरान श्रमिकों ने अपने हुनर से समय का सदुपयोग करते हुए परिसर को वंदे भारत ट्रेन की शक्ल दे दी।

गांव के सरपंच उमेश चतुर्वेदी बताते हैं कि इन मजदूरों ने वास्तव में प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के आत्म निर्भर अभियान को आत्मसात किया है।

मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने भी मजदूरों के इस हुनर को सलाम किया है। उन्होंने कहा है कि यह रचनात्मक प्रयास बच्चों को स्कूल आने और उन्हें बड़े सपने देखने के लिए प्रेरित करेगा। परिक्रमा के लिए भोपाल से संजीव शर्मा के साथ मैं राशिद अहमद खान।


Bengaluru has become first city in the country to use petrol based drones for spraying disinfectant in the containment zone, red zone, markets, lockdown areas, inaccessible corners  and hospitals.  The 43 kilo weight drone is developed by the Chennai based company with the Technology provided  by the Anna University in Chennai. The drones using Citrobioshield solution as disinfectant and spraying in the vulnerable areas.  The Citrobioshield solution was invented by the Bengaluru based company. More from our Correspondent R.Murthy:

"The drones that run on petrol and backed up by a battery is being developed for the first time in the country. This is cost effective as it can fly for six hours without any payload.  This drone with carrying capacity of 20 kgs weight has two tanks fitted on board. These are filled with 3.50 Litres Petrol and 16 litres water mixed with Citrobioshield solution.  In 4 minutes it can spray 4,000 square meter area. This drones will fly up to 30 meters height and can spray in the high rise buildings and hospitals. Speaking exclusively to AIR, Dr.K.Senthil Kumar, Director and Professor, Dr.Abdul Kalam Advanced Drone Research Center, Anna University, Chennai explained more on the new drones.

Dr. Senthil Kumar has said that government can  use these drones to carry medicine to the fields for taking  throat swab  and quickly delivering them to  the hospital for speedy test.  R.MURTHY FOR PARIKRAMA FROM BENGALURU".


कोविड-19 के कारण उच्चतम न्यायालय ने इस साल रथ यात्रा को कुछ शर्तों के साथ अनुमति दी थी िजसमें यह भी कहा गया था कि इस यात्रा में आम जनता शामिल नहीं होंगी। यह यात्रा पहली जुलाई को सम्पन्न होगी जब भगवान जगन्नाथ भगवान बलभद्र और देवी सुभ्रद्रा वापस लौटेंगे। 

The preparations are in full swing for returning of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra on coming Wednesday. The return trip is called Ulta or Bahuda Rath Yatra. This ritual is also referred to as the Dakshanibhimukhi Yatraas the chariots start moving towards the Southern direction. The return journey also features several practices such as the Senapatalagi, Mangalarpana, and Bandapana. The Gods are treated with a special dessert called Poda Peetha as they reach Mausi Maa temple en route. Subsequently, the chariots of Balbhadra and Subhadra proceed towards the main temple's Singhadwara while Lord Jagannath waits for Goddess's Lakshmi's arrival at the Shreenahara. Then, Goddess Lakshmi arrives at Shreenahara in a palanquin for a few rituals. Eventually, Lord Jagannath proceeds towards the Shreemandira (Puri temple) to join his siblings for the remaining customary practices such as the Suna Besha, Adhara Pana and Niladri Bije. Meantime, engineers and carpenters had inspected the three chariots and carried out some minor repairs on the wheels. But on the other hand, due to direction of Supreme Court, Puri administration declared imposition of curfew in the district from 10 pm tomorrow to 10 pm July 2 for smooth conduct of Bahuda Yatra of Lord Jagannath and his siblings. Nagaland has been awarded for best performing state for its works on eradication of TB along with Tripura in the category of small states with less than 50 lakhs populations under National TB elimination programme in the year 2019. The declaration was made during the release of the annual TB Report 2020 by Union Health minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan on June 24.

Nagaland was among the few states awarded for their performance under National TB elimination programme 2019. Along with Tripura State, Nagaland was awarded in the category of smaller states with less than 50 lakh populations. In the categories of larger states with more than 50 lakh populations, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh were awarded as best performing States. While, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman & Diu were chosen as the best performers in the category of Union Territory. For Parikrama  Asonuo, from  Kohima.


Domestic equity benchmarks today closed with losses of more than half a percent amid negative global cues. Sensex at Bombay Stock Exchange declined 210 points, or 0.6 percent, to close at 34,962. Similarly, the Nifty at National Stock Exchange fell 71 points, or 0.68 percent, to settle at 10,312. Broader indices at BSE also logged losses. Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis born on this day in 1893 was an Indian scientist and statistician.

सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर, स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य और परिवार कल्‍याण मंत्री डॉ0 हर्षवर्धन ने राष्‍ट्रीय सांख्यिकी दिवस पर प्रोफेसर प्रसन्‍ता चन्‍द्र महालानोबिस को श्रद्धा सुमन अर्पित किये। एक ट्वीट में श्री जावड़ेकर ने कहा कि प्रो0 महालानोबिस ने आर्थिक योजना और सांख्यिकी विकास में महत्‍पूर्ण योगदान किया था। डॉ0 हर्षवर्धन ने भी एक ट्वीट में कहा कि यह दिन प्रो0 महालानोबिस के जन्‍मदिन के अवसर पर मनाया जा रहा है। उन्‍होंने कहा कि देश के विकास के लिए नीति और विकास योजना बनाने में सांख्यिकी की महत्‍वपूर्ण भूमिका होती है।

He is best remembered for the Mahalanobis distance, a statistical measure, and for being one of the members of the first Planning Commission of independent India. He made pioneering studies in anthropometry in India. He founded the Indian Statistical Institute, and contributed to the design of large-scale sample surveys.For his contributions, Mahalanobis has been considered the father of modern statistics in India.

 Jai Jagadish, an Indian film actor, director and producer in the Kannada film industry was born today. Starting his career as an actor in Phalitamsha (1976), he went on to feature in over 300 films as an actor.In 1998, he turned producer for the film Bhoomi Thayiya Chochchala Maga. His debut directorial film was Madana. Some of the notable films of Jai Jagadish as an actor include Gaali Maathu (1981), Benkiyalli Aralida Hoovu (1983), Bandhana (1984), Madhuve Madu Tamashe Nodu (1986) and Garjane (1981), among others.  Let us listen a song from his movie.
